All About Online Swaps - from Oct Meeting

So, we had a great turnout in October!  We talked all about online swaps, exchanges, quilt-alongs, shop hops, and more!  Some of you even brought projects that you'd completed from participating in one of these online...they were great fun to see.  {they are on the UCMQG flickr site if you want to take a peek}  Also, several of you shared your tips and tricks to online exchanging...thank you!  I shared a handout of some of the things that I've learned along the way...but, I kept forgetting that I need to pass it along to those of you that weren't able to attend {we missed you, by the way!}...so if you click here you'll find the handout.

Here are links to some of the sites we talked about:

3x6 Bee on Flickr- block exchange
4x5 Bee on Flickr - block exchange
Fabric Swap Finder
Quilting Bee Blocks - block exchange finder

Big 10 Inch Swap - fabric swap
Fab Shop Hop

And...of course, the link to the Utah County MQG on flickr!

We also talked about our very first UCMQG block echange!  We're bringing together quilters from across Utah County to participate in a huge block exchange inspired by the colors of QuiltCon...and we want YOU to join us!  At the end of the exchange you'll end up with a unique modern quilt that represents what modern quilting means to each quilter.  There is no set pattern or number of blocks to make...we just want to see your creativity.  Sign-up information is posted here on the blog {see below}, on the Utah County MQG Facebook page, and on the Utah County MQG on Flickr.  Please note that you will have to join the group on Flickr in order to read the information or see the pictures people will submit of their blocks.

Please click here for all the details about the swap! We hope you'll join us in participating!

Here are a few block examples (they are all from the 99 Modern Blocks book):

Broadbents has fabulous fabric packs for sale!  They are fat-eighths of different solids and prints from the QuiltCon color palette!  And...they come with a fabulous clear plastic zipper case!
